These allow enemies to deal huge damage, although they’re dodgeable. Here, the game will teach you about power surge attacks. Push forwards until you hear a robot smash through the window to your left. Save your game in here and loot the nearby chest, then return to the corridor. As the name implies, P-3 also can’t be attacked while in these rooms. These small rooms contain save stations, key loot and other useful resources. Head through it to access your first safe area. As you descend the stairs, you’ll see a door to your right. You’ll cue a cutscene where P-3 attempts to help a terrified man before he’s pulled away by several robotic chords.Īfter he’s gone, continue following the route. Now, return to the door and insert the valve. Follow the tunnel until you find a red valve on the floor beside a dead body (this body also has a chirper you can grab while you’re here). Inside, you’ll find a network of tunnels. Scale the cabinet and use it as a platform to reach the hole. Look southeast of the door and you’ll see a broken wooden cabinet perched below a hole in the ceiling. Charles will note that we need to go through the giant steel door ahead of us, although it’s locked. After P-3's had a strangely timed cigarette, you’ll regain control.Ĭlimb out of the elevator and enter the room ahead of you. Watch the scene play out and you’ll wind up below ground in a subterranean lab. Luckily, he’s saved by the farmer working the pasture, who turns out to be an old woman with a large arsenal of weaponry and a fondness for dropping curse words. The sequence will show P-3 completely forgetting that every robot in this facility is currently trying to murder him, and then act surprised when the robot hiding in the outhouse attempts to strangle him to death. Approach the outhouse and interact with it to cue a cutscene. It’s coming from the small outhouse just to the left of the pasture. After they’re done, you’ll hear a robotic voice asking for help nearby. You’ll reach a pasture as Charles and P-3 talk more about Petrov and his links with the facility. Take all three enemies out and then continue following the path. These enemies aren’t particularly quick and need to get into close range to hit us, so we shouldn’t have too much trouble landing heavy blows. As the names imply, the light swing is quicker but does less damage and the heavy blow is slower but does significantly more damage. With a melee weapon, all we need to currently worry about is hitting R2 for a light swing and L2 for a heavy blow. Once they’re scanned, we can head into the fight. We’ll learn they have no resistances and contain metal parts and synthetic materials which we can use to craft new items later in the mission. Using the scan ability we acquired in the previous chapter, focus your gaze on the robots ahead to bring up a range of useful information about them. First things first, you should scan any new enemy you encounter while exploring so you can enter a fight prepared. It’s time for our first slice of combat, so let’s run through a few things. Once you’ve hung up, continue forwards towards a group of three Lab-Tech robots standing at the end of the street. Sergei is commanded to find and kill this rouge scientist, giving us our objective. According to Sechenov, the robots have been hacked by a scientist named Viktor Petrov who works at the facility. Sechnov will call P-3 as you walk and the pair will talk about the AI revolt taking place in the complex. When you regain control, push forwards down the street. During the opening cutscene, he'll find a fire axe in the ground, providing us with our first weapon. Following his disastrous flight into the complex, P-3 will awaken on a rundown road.
